A 24% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 28% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 30% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 32% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let, the total population be 100x Number of females = 100x × 0.20 = 20x Number of males = 100x – 20x = 80x Literate male in the village = 80x × 0.80 = 64x Or, 64x = 1280 Or, x = 20 Total population = 2000 Literate females in the village = 1280 × (1/8) = 160 Illiterate people in the village = 2000 – 1280 – 160 = 560 Percentage of illiterate people = (560/2000) × 100 = 28%
