of the remaining income on food. If the amount spent on insurance is Rs. 6,000, then find the amount spent on food.
A Rs.7,300 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs.6,350 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs.8,500 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs.5,475 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Let the income of the person be Rs. x.
    Amount spent on insurance = 0.15x = Rs. 6,000
    Total income = 6,000 ÷ 0.15 = Rs. 40,000
    Amount spent on food = 0.25 × (0.85x) = 0.2125x = 40,000 × 0.2125 = Rs. 8,500
