Question
In a botanical park, 50% of the trees are neem trees. The
number of eucalyptus trees is 35% of the neem trees, and the number of bamboo trees is 80% of the eucalyptus trees. If there are 112 bamboo trees, calculate the total number of trees in the park.Solution
ATQ,
Let total number of trees in the park be 100x
Number of neem trees = 0.50 × 100x = 50x
Number of eucalyptus trees = 0.35 × 50x = 17.5x
Number of bamboo trees = 0.80 × 17.5x = 14x
So, 14x = 112
x = 8
Total number of trees in the park = 100x = 800
