    In a large nursery, 65% of the plants are rose plants. The

    number of sunflower plants is 20% of the rose plants, and the number of tulip plants is 60% of the sunflower plants. If there are 96 tulip plants, find the total number of plants in the nursery.
    A 1231 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 1720 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 2620 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 1700 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

    Let total number of plants in the nursery be 100x

    Number of rose plants = 0.65 × 100x = 65x

    Number of sunflower plants = 0.20 × 65x = 13x

    Number of tulip plants = 0.60 × 13x = 7.8x

    So, 7.8x = 96

    x = 12.31 (approx)

    Total number of plants in the nursery = 100x = 1231
