    Let the marks obtained by Tarun be ‘x’.

    So, marks obtained by Arjun = 1.45x

    According to question,

    (1.45x – x) + 140 = 275

    0.45x = 275 – 140

    0.45x = 135

    x = 135 / 0.45

    x = 300

    Therefore, marks obtained by Arjun = 1.45 × 300 = 435 marks
