Question
Ravi had Rs. 20,000. He donated 15% of the total for
disaster relief, then gave 10% of the remaining for rural education, and 30% of what was left for orphan care. How much is he left with?Solution
ATQ,
Money donated for disaster relief = 0.15 × 20000 = Rs. 3,000
Remaining amount = 20000 – 3000 = Rs. 17,000
Money donated for rural education = 0.10 × 17000 = Rs. 1,700
Remaining amount = 17000 – 1700 = Rs. 15,300
Money donated for orphan care = 0.30 × 15300 = Rs. 4,590
Final amount left = 15300 – 4590 = Rs. 10,710
