marks more than the other. If marks of student who got more marks is 60% of the sum of the marks of both of them, then find the marks obtained by them.
    A 39, 26 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 30, 17 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 32, 19 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 40, 27 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let total marks obtained by both of them is x and y respectively. x – y = 13 And, x = 0.6 × (x + y) x = 0.6 × (13 + y + y) x = 0.6 × (13 + 2y) x = 7.8 + 1.2y 13 + y = 7.8 + 1.2y 0.2y = 5.2 y = 26 x = 26 + 13 = 39
