Let the numbers be 'a' and 'b' such that (a > b)
a + b = 46 --------- (I)
And, a2 - b2 = 184
Or, (a + b) (a - b) = 184
Or, 46 X (a - b) = 184
Or, a - b = 4 -------- (II)
On adding equation I and II,
We get, a + b + a - b = 46 + 4
Or, 2a = 50
Or, 'a' = 25
