Let monthly of person is Rs. 100x Monthly savings = 0.15 × 100x = Rs. 15x Monthly expenditure = 100x – 15x = Rs. 85x His increased monthly income = 1.35 × 100x = Rs. 135x His monthly expenditure now = 135x – 15x = 120x Percentage increase in expenditure = [(120x – 85x)/85x] × 100 ~ 41.1%
