Solution

Let the Total marks be x According to the question, 30% of x + 50 = 50% of x -30 30x/100+ 50 = (50x/100) - 30 20x/100 = 80 x = 400 Passing marks = 30% of 400 + 50 = 120 + 50 = 170 Passing Percentage = (170/400) × 100 = 42.5%
