    Let number of cows in the farm = ‘x’ And, total number of chickens in the farm = ‘y’ So,
    x + y = 48 ---- (1) And,
    4x + 2y = 140 So,
    2x + y = 70 ---- (2) On subtracting Equation (1) from Equation (2), we get x = 22 So, number of cows in the farm = 22
