Question
Rohit’s strike rate after playing k balls is 300. In next
12 balls, he scored 60 more runs and his strike rate increased by 60. Find the value of 2k.Solution
ATQ,
Runs scored in k balls = (300k/100) = (3k)
New strike rate = 300 + 60 = 360
So, 360 = [{3k + 60} ÷ {k + 12}] × 100
⇒ 360 × (k + 12) = 100 × (3k + 60)
⇒ 36 × (k + 12) = (3k + 60) × 10
⇒ 36k + 432 = 30k + 600
⇒ 6k = 168
⇒ k = 28
Therefore, required value = 2 × 28 = 56
