litres of mixture is removed and 15 litres of water is added so that the quantity of milk is 5 litres more than water. Find the initial quantity of the mixture.Solution
Milk after removal = 2x – 30 × 2/3 = 2x – 20 litres
Water after removal = 1x – 30 × 1/3 = x – 10 litres
Water after adding = x – 10 + 15 = x + 5 litres
ATQ:
2x – 20 = (x + 5) + 5
2x – 20 = x + 10
x = 30
Initial quantity = 3x = 90 litres
