A 20 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 60 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 50 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 45 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ, Let the total quantity of mixture initially be '100y' litres. Quantity of water = 0.4 × 100y = '40y' litres. Quantity of milk = 100y - 40y = '60y' litres. ATQ: 60y=1.2×(40y+15) 60y=48y+18 12y=18 y = 18/12 = 1.5 Therefore, initial quantity of water = 40 × 1.5 = 60 litres.
