Quantity of water in the mixture initially = 250 × (1/5) = 50 litres Quantity of water removed = 50 × 0.4 = 20 litres Quantity of water added = 250 × 0.4 = 100 litres Quantity of water in the new mixture = 50 – 20 + 100 = 130 litres
