Initially, amount of milk = (5/8) × 184 = 115 litres Amount of water = (3/8) × 184 = 69 litres 24 litres of mixture is replaced. Amount of milk replaced = 24 x (5/8) = 15 Amount of water replaced = 24 x (3/8) = 9 So, required ratio = (115 – 15):(69 – 9 + 24) = 100:84 = 25:21
