    A 247 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 231 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 238 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 240 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the initial quantities of milk and water in the vessel be 8x litres and 3x litres respectively.
    121 litres mixture contains 88 litres milk and 33 litres water.
    According to question:
    8x – 88 = 3x – 33 + 50
    5x = 105
    x = 21
    So the initial quantity of mixture = 11 × 21 = 231 litres
