cm. 45 tiles are placed along the length and 20 tiles along the breadth. If the perimeter of the wall is 1040 cm, find the side of each tile.
Solution
Given the length of side of the square tile is 'z' cm. According to the question, Since, 45 tiles are present in each row along the length and 20 tiles are present in each column along the breadth Therefore, (45z + 20z) Γ 2 = 1040 Or, 65z Γ 2 = 1040 Or, 130z = 1040 Or, z = 8 Therefore, length of each side of the square tile = 8 cm
