      Question

Find the total surface area of a cuboid that is formed

by combining two identical cubes, given that the total surface area of each cube is 150 cm².
A 330 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 250 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 495 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 350 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ,

Let the length of each edge of the cube = ‘a’ cm

      So, 6 × a² = 150

      So, a² = 25

Or, a = 5 (Since, length cannot be negative, we take only the positive root)

      So, length of the cuboid = 2 × a = 2 × 5 = 10 cm

      Width of the cuboid = a = 5 cm

And, height of the cuboid = a = 5 cm

      Desired area = 2 × (5 × 5 + 5 × 10 + 5 × 10) = 2 × 125 = 250 cm²
