Question
Find the total surface area of a cuboid that is formed by
merging two identical cubes, where the surface area of each cube is given as 384 cm².Solution
ATQ,
Let the length of each edge of the cube = ‘a’ cm
So, 6 × a² = 384
So, a² = 64
Or, a = 8
So, length of the cuboid = 2 × a = 2 × 8 = 16 cm
Width of the cuboid = a = 8 cm
And, height of the cuboid = a = 8 cm
Desired area = 2 × (8 × 8 + 8 × 16 + 8 × 16) = 2 × 384 = 768 cm²
