Let the original length and breadth of the rectangle be 8x cm and 5x cm, respectively According to the question, 2 × {(1.22 × 8x) + (0.7 × 5x)} = 663 Or, 9.76x + 3.5x = 331.5 Or, x = 331.5/13.26 = 25 Therefore, original area of the rectangle = 8x × 5x = 40x2 = 25000 cm2
