Circumference of base of cylinder = 264 ⇒ 2πr = 264 ⇒ 2 x 22/7 x r = 264 ∴ r = (264 x 7 )/(2 x 22) = 42 cm ∴ Area of base of cylinder = πr² ⇒ 22/7 x 42 x 42= 5,544 cm²
