Let the breadth of the floor = 'b' metres Then, perimeter of the floor = 2 x (25 + b) = 78 So, b = (78/2) - 25 = 14 So, area of the floor = 25 x 14 = 350 m2 So, cost of carpeting the floor = 350 x 8 = Rs. 2800 Hence, option a.
