The base of a triangular field is 3 times its height. If the cost of harvesting this field at the rate of Rs 100 per hectare is Rs 1350, then find its base.
Solution
.Area of the triangular field = Total expense / rate = 1350/100 =13.5 hectare =13.5 ×10000 =135000 square meter Let height = h Then base =3h Area of field = ½ ×h×3h 135000 = ½ ×3h2 h2=90000 h=300meter So now height = 300meter and base = 3×300 = 900meter
