Question
What is the difference between (in m2) the
area of a circular field of radius 35 metres and area of a rectangular piece of land having its dimensions as 70 metres × 45 metres?Solution
Area of the circular field = π × radius2 = (22/7) × 35 × 35 = 3850 m2 Area of the rectangular piece of land = length × breadth = 70 × 45 = 3150 m2 So, difference in area = 3850 – 3150 = 700 m2
