    Question

Two third part of cylinder is full of water. When we

tilt the cylinder in such a way that the water becomes diagonal shape, in this process 87.5 litre of water is flown out. Find the capacity of cylinder?
A 175 litre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 525 litre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 350 litre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 475 litre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Let the volume of the cylinder be X. Water in cylinder = (2/3)X When we tilt the cylinder, the water becomes the diagonal shape i.e half of water left and 87.5 litres of water flown out. => (2/3)X - 87.5 = X/2 => 2X - 262.5 = (3/2)X => -262.5 = -(X/2) => X = 525 litre Therefore, The capacity of the cylinder is 525 litre.
