Question
Find the least number of four digits which is exactly divisible by 6, 8 and 16?
Solution
Least four digit number = 1000 So when 1000 is divided by LCM of 6,8 & 16 (i.e.48) , remainder is 40. So when gap of divisor & remainder is added to 1000, it will be completely divided by 48 & answer will be = 1000 +(48-40)= 1000+8 = 1008.
