      Question

The lengths of three medians in a triangles are 24 cm,

32 cm, 40 cm. What is the area of that traingle (in cm 2 )?
A 512 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 392 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 648 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 800 cm² Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Here s = (a+ b+ c )/2 = (24 + 32 + 40) /2 = 96/2 = 48 cm If a, b & c are medians of any triangle , then area of the triangle = 4/3 √(s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)) = 4/3 √(48(48 - 24)(48 - 32)(48 - 40)) = 4/3 √(48 × 24 × 16 × 8) = (4/3) × 384 = 512 cm²
