    5. What will be the remainder when 577 + 87 is divided by 13?

    Question

What will be the remainder when 577 +

    87 is divided by 13?
B 6 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 5 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 2 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    In an + bn, n is an odd number then (a + b) is one of its factors. So, in case of 577 + 87, (57 + 8) i.e. 65 is a factor of the given term. 57 + 8 = 65 = 5 × 13 Since, 13 is a factor of 65, there when the given term is divided by 13, the remainder will be 0.
