Question
Sum of ages of 60 students is 900 years such that the
average age of 25 of them is 10 years and average age of another 25 of them is 14 years. Find the average age of each of the remaining students.Solution
Given, sum of age of 60 students = 900 years
Sum of age of 25 students = 25 × 10 = 250 years
Sum of age of another 25 students = 25 × 14 = 350 years
Remaining number of students = 60 – 25 – 25 = 10
Average age of remaining 10 students = {(900 – 250 – 350)/10} = (300/10) = 30 years
