The average of two numbers is 11 more than the smaller number among them. If the greater number is 87.5% more than the smaller number, then find the sum of the two numbers.
Solution
Let the smaller number be 16x.
Greater = 1.875 × 16x = 30x.
ATQ, 16x + 11 = (16x + 30x) / 2 = 23x
⇒ x = 11
Sum = 46x = 46 × 11 = 506
