Let the present age of Rakesh be ‘x’ years Therefore, present age of Aman = x + 2x = ‘3x’ years Let, present age of Suresh be ‘y’ years Given, y – x = 5 Or, x = y – 5 Also, (3x + 5) = 2 × (y + 5) Or, 3 × (y – 5) + 5 = 2y + 10 Or, 3y – 15 + 5 = 2y + 10 Or, y = 20 Therefore, x = y – 5 = 15 Therefore, present age of Aman = 3x = 3 × 15 = 45 years
