The age of Arjun 4 years ago was 25% more than the present

age of Rohan. 6 years hence, the ratio of their ages will be 15:11. Find the difference between their present ages.
A 4 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 6 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 8 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 10 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E 12 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Let the present age of Rohan be ‘x’ years
    Therefore, present age of Arjun = (1 + 0.25)x + 4 = 1.25x + 4

    According to the question,
    (1.25x + 4 + 6) / (x + 6) = 30/22

Solving the equation, we get x = 16 years
    Then, Arjun's age = 24 years
    Required difference = 24 – 16 = 8 years
