    Let the present age of Bob be ‘b’ years. Thus, the present age of Alex = ‘4b’ years. Let the present age of Charlie be ‘b + 2’ years. ATQ, (4b + 6) = 3 × (b + 2 + 6), Or, 4b + 6 = 3b + 24, Or, 4b – 3b = 24 - 6, Or, b = 18, Therefore, 4b = 72. Therefore, the current age of Alex = 72 years.
