    3:2, respectively. Six years hence from now, the age of ‘B’ will be 20 years. If the average of present ages of ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ is 19 years, then find the present age of ‘C’.

    Solution

    Let the present ages of ‘A’ and ‘B’ be 3x years and 2x years, respectively Therefore, 2x + 6 = 20 Or, 2x = 14 Or, x = 7 Sum of present ages of ‘A’ and ‘B’ = 3x + 2x = 35 years Sum of present ages of ‘A’, “B’ and ‘C’ = 19 × 3 = 27 years Therefore, present age of ‘C’ = 57 – 35 = 22 years
