Let A’s age be x years. B’s age = 2x and C’s age = (2 + x) According to question, => x + 2x + (2 + x) = 42 => 4x = 40 => x = 10 B’s age = 2x = 20 years C’s age = 2 + x = 12 years Difference between the ages of B and C = 20 – 12 = 8 years
