As per Section 7 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Data Fiduciary is the entity or person who determines the purpose and means of processing personal data and is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Act. The Data Fiduciary must ensure lawful processing, protect data principals’ rights, and implement necessary security safeguards. • Data Principal is the individual whose data is being processed. • Data Processor processes data on behalf of the fiduciary but does not determine the purpose. • Adjudicating Officer handles dispute resolution. • Central Government frames rules and regulations.
