Under the PMLA, the offence of money laundering is defined in which section?

Section 3 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act defines the offence of money laundering. It provides that whosoever directly or indirectly attempts to indulge or knowingly assists or is a party to, or is actually involved in any process or activity connected with the proceeds of crime, including its concealment, possession, acquisition, use, projecting or claiming it as untainted property, is guilty of the offence of money laundering. This broad definition captures the various stages and forms of laundering criminal proceeds.
