    The SBI Law Officer 2026 notification was released on June 24, 2026 and registration is open from June 24, 2026 to July 14, 2026.

    SBI has notified two posts under this recruitment which are Assistant Manager (Law) and Deputy Manager (Law) A total of 49 vacancies have been announced across both posts.

    The mandatory qualification for both posts is a graduate degree in Law or a Law degree from a recognized university in India. Candidates with a 5-year integrated law course may be given preference.

    Assistant Manager (Law) requires 2 years of experience as a practising advocate or as a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank. Deputy Manager (Law) requires 4 years of such experience, and in both cases the experience must be post-enrolment with the Bar Council.

    For Assistant Manager (Law), the age limit is 25 to 32 years as on 31.05.2026, and for Deputy Manager (Law) it is 25 to 35 years as on 31.05.2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Government of India norms.

    Selection is based on an Online Written Test followed by an Interview, with a final merit weightage of 70% for the written test and 30% for the interview. The Online Written Test consists of an Objective Test and a Descriptive Test, both carrying 50 marks each.

    The Objective Test includes General Aptitude (qualifying) with 25 questions in Reasoning and 35 in English, and a Professional Knowledge paper of 50 questions carrying 50 marks. The Descriptive Test consists of 5 questions (out of 8) carrying 50 marks, to be completed in 45 minutes.

    The application fee is Rs 750 for General, EWS, and OBC candidates. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of fees. The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.

    The Online Written Test is tentatively scheduled in August 2026. Call letters will be uploaded on the Bank's website and communicated via SMS and email; no hard copy will be sent.

    The basic pay for Assistant Manager (Law) starts at Rs 48,480 under the scale 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. Deputy Manager (Law) has a basic pay starting at Rs 64,820 under the scale 64820-2340/1-67160-2680/10-93960, along with DA, HRA, NPS, LFC, and other allowances.
