During the launch phase of the Sthree Suraksha scheme, the first pension instalment was credited to more than 10.18 lakh beneficiaries. These beneficiaries include women and transwomen from economically weaker households who meet the eligibility criteria defined by the state government. The transfer was made through the Direct Benefit Transfer system, which deposits the financial assistance directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Additional applicants are expected to be included in the scheme after verification and approval processes.
