SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is quite highly respected and revered in India. This is because it is an organization which conducts various recruitment opportunities for graduates through their competitive exams. One of those opportunities is the SSC CPO (Central Police Organization), recruitment. The SSC CPO offers plenty of opportunities for aspiring candidates. We advice you to check out the SSC CPO eligibility criteria in order to avoid your candidature being cancelled at a later stage. The eligibility criteria for the SSC CPO exam 2024 include age, educational qualification, physical standards etc. The educational criteria for SSC CPO must be fulfilled as of the specified date mentioned in the SSC CPO Notification. The notification for 2024  was released on March 04, 2024. Candidates keen on joining the SSC CPO  can apply for the exam from March 04, 2024 to March 28, 2024. If there are any corrections to be made to your application, it can be done from 30 March, 2024 to 31st March 2024. Whlile the exam was scheduled to take place on May 09, 10 and 13 respectively, the SSC CPO Exam Dates have been postponed owing to the Lok Sabha elections in India. As of now, the exams will be held on  27, 28 and 29 June. The eligibility criteria is one of the most important qualifiers for the SSC CPO Exam and all hopefuls need to ensure they fulfill it. SSC CPO Educational Criteria

One of the first qualifiers you need to be aware of is the SSC CPO Educational Criteria. In order to apply for the SSC CPO exam 2024, you are required to check the educational criteria first. To be eligible to apply for SSC CPO exam 2024 you must possess a Bachelor's degree in any subject from any recognized University. Besides that, there are other minor aspects you need to be aware of All other educational criteria-related information is provided below in the table. SSC CPO Age Criteria

The SSC CPO invites young and eligible aspirants to become part of this elite force. These recruits will further be posted into various posts like Sub-inspector in Delhi Police/ CAPFs. Since the post requires its candidates to be young and agile, the age criteria for this recruitment is quite strict. This means that the SSC CPO age criteria requires candidates to be between the age of 20-25 years. Only candidates who fulfill this age criteria will be welcome into the Central police organization. Candidates must be within the age limit as per the deadline mentioned in the notification.

SSC CPO Age limit of the candidates should be from 20 to 25 years as on 01.01.2022 (i.e., candidates born not before 02.01.1997 and not later than 01.01.2002).

SSC CPO Age Relaxation

Like the case with any government jobs, there are government sanctioned age relaxations in place. This is specifically meant for those belonging to the reserved category. For those unaware, reserved categories refers to those who do not fall in the General/ Unreserved Candidates. This includes people who fall in the category of SC/ST/OBC/EX serviceman, etc. All the complete details related to SSC CPO 2024 exam age relaxation is provided in the table below.

Physical Standard test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Besides the educational qualification and the age criteria, the SSC CPO recruitment also asks for a Physical Test. If you do qualify on the SSC CPO online exam , you will be called for the Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test. The PST/PET will be qualifying in nature which means there are no marks allotted for both tests.

Physical standard Test for all posts

A physical standard test is prescribed by SSC for the SSC CPO. This standard will be applicable to all the posts. The physical standard for male and female is different and there is certain relaxation provided to candidates belonging to Garhwali or Kumaoni community. Physical Endurance Test for all posts

Other than the physical standard test(PST), candidates have to go through PET in which they have to undergo some tests like race, long jump and high jump. Three chances will be given to the candidates. Please note that an Ex-serviceman is not required to go through the physical endurance test(PET).

For Male candidates

Medical Standard (For all posts)

All the qualified candidates have to undergo the medical examination which will be examined by any Medical officer of CAPF or any Medical officer belonging to Grade 1 of Central/State government hospital.

Eyesight: There are a few standard vision requirements prescribed by the SSC for the CPO post.

  • For near vision: Minimum is N6(better eye) and Maximum is N9(Worst eye)
  • For distant vision: Minimum is 6/6 best and maximum are 6/9 worst.
