SBI CLERK EXAM PATTERN 2020

SBI has finally released its official SBI Clerk notification 2020. As all the job aspirants are eager to get themselves a job in the largest bank of India, therefore they curiously wait for SBI's recruitment to be released. SBI Clerk recruitment 2020 process has been started and will be open till January 26, 2020. Interested candidates are therefore advised to fill the SBI Clerk application form and start preparing for the exam as soon as they can. SBI Clerk, officially called Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales) is an online mode objective type exam. SBI Clerk exam mainly consist of three stages that are mentioned below:

  • Online Preliminary Exam
  • Online Main Exam
  • Language Proficiency Test

There are some other main points that you should be aware of:

  • There is no sectional cut-off in the SBI Clerk Prelims as well as in Mains
  • There will be sectional timings in the SBI Clerk Prelims as well as Mains
  • There will be no Interview after the SBI Clerk Main exam. The SBI Clerk Main exam marks decide the selection of the candidate
  • Instead of Interview, a Language Test will be conducted for the local language of the state from which the candidate applies.

SBI CLERK PHASE 1 (PRELIMS) EXAM PATTERN 2020

SBI Clerk Prelims exam is an online 'objective test' of 100 marks. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of three Sections: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The timings allotted will be equal for all the tests, therefore you will have to give full attention to a particular test until the timing gets exhausted. You cannot shift from one section to another. The SBI Clerk Prelims exam is only qualifying in nature and these marks will not be considered in the SBI Clerk final selection.

SBI CLERK PHASE 2 (MAINS) EXAM PATTERN 2020

The candidates who qualify in the SBI Clerk Prelims exam 2020, will appear in the next stage ie SBI Clerk Mains. The SBI Clerk Main exam is  the final step to your success. This will play a major role in final selection. Each test in the SBI Clerk Mains also have separate timing as mentioned below. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subject as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed. The structure of SBI Clerk main exam is as follows:

SBI Clerk Exam Language

  • The questions in objective tests, except for the test of  English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi.
  • Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available). Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
  • No minimum qualifying marks for individual subject are prescribed. Merit list will be drawn State wise, Category wise.
  • Candidates qualified in the SBI Clerk main exam will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories.

SBI Clerk Language Proficiency Test

Test of specified opted local language

  • Those who qualify SBI Clerk Mains and produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate, having studied the opted local language will not be subjected to any Language test.
  • In case of others (qualified SBI Clerk Mains), specified opted local language test will be conducted after provisional selection which will be before the joining.
  • Candidates not found to be proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified.

Provisional Selection (Subject to qualifying specified opted local language) 

  • The marks obtained in the SBI Clerk Prelims exam will not be added for the selection and only the aggregate marks obtained in SBI Clerk Mains will be considered for preparation of final merit list.
  • Provisional selection will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the SBI Clerk mains only.

Final selection: will be subject to: -

  • Verification of eligibility for the post and information furnished in the SBI Clerk online application.
  • Qualified in specified opted local language, where applicable, as detailed above.
  • Results of the candidates who have provisionally qualified for SBI Clerk will be made available on the Bank's website.

SBI Clerk Reserved List

A reserved (waiting) list of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) will be maintained by the SBI. This reserved list will be valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of  SBI Clerk final result.
