    In the question below some statements are given

    followed by three conclusions I, II and III. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Some Short is Pant. No Pant is Skirt. Conclusions: I. Some Short is not Skirt. II. Some Skirt is Jacket. III. All Short is Jacket.

    Solution

    Some Short is Pant (I) + No Pant is Skirt (E) → Some Short is not Skirt (O). Hence conclusion I follows but conclusion II does not follow. All Jacket is Short (A) → Conversion → Some Short is Jacket (I). Hence conclusion III does not follow.
