In the question below there are four statements followed by four conclusions I, II, III and IV. You have to take the three given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the three statements disregarding commonly known facts.

Statements:

Only Phase are Dream.

No Phase is an Aspirant.

Only a few Officers are Aspirants.

No Officer is a Talent.

Conclusions:

I. At least Some Talents being Dreams is a possibility.

II. Some Phases can be Talents.

III. Some Officers are not Aspirants.

IV. No Officer is a Dream.

Solution

Only Phase are Dream → All Dreams are Phases and Dreams cannot have positive relation with anyone. Hence conclusion I does not follow but conclusion IV follows. Only a few Officers are Aspirants (I) + [No Phase is a Aspirant (E) → Conversion] → No Aspirant is a Phase (E) → Some Officers are not Phases (O) + No Officer is a Talent (E) → Probable conclusion → Some Phases can be Talents (I). Hence conclusion II follows. Only a few Officer are Aspirant → Some Officers are not Aspirants (O). Hence conclusion III follows.
