II. All Soldiers can be Refugees.

III. Some Colonels are Politicians.

A Only conclusion I and II follow. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Only conclusion I and IV follow. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Only conclusion IV follows. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Only conclusion I, II and IV follow. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E All the conclusions follow. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

Solution

Some Colonels are Soldiers (I) + Some Soldiers are Politicians (I) → Probable conclusion →   Some Politicians are Colonels (I) + No Colonel is an Officer (E) → Some Politicians are not Officers (I) → Probable conclusion → Some Officers can be Politicians (I).   Hence conclusion I follows but conclusion III does not follow. Only a few Refugees are Soldiers → All Soldiers can be Refugees (A). Hence conclusion II follows. Some Colonels are Soldiers (I) → Conversion → Some Soldiers are Colonels (I). Hence conclusion IV follows.
