Question
Who sits extreme left end of the
row? Study the following information to answer the given questions: Eight persons, A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H sit in a straight row such that some face south while others face north direction. To distinguish between left and right ends of the row, consider the row as per north direction. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the persons at the ends are facing north. H and F sit second to the right of each other. Only one person sits between F and C, who sits at the extreme right end. D and E sit immediate left of each other but neither of them sits at extreme left end. E and F face opposite directions. One person sits between A and B. At most three persons sit between B and G, who faces south. A doesn’t sit immediate left of C. Immediate neighbors of F face opposite direction to F.Solution
H and F sit second to the right of each other. Only one person sits between F and C, who sits at the extreme right end. If C sits at place no. 8, then F will sit at place no. 6. If F face south direction then, H sits at place no. 4 and faces north direction. D and E sit immediate left of each other but neither of them sits at extreme left end. E and F face opposite directions. We know that F faces south so, E will face north direction. If E sits at place no. 3, then D will sit at place no. 2 faces south direction.
One person sits between A and B. At most three persons sit between B and G, who faces south. A doesn’t sit immediate left of C. Immediate neighbors of F face opposite direction to F. B cannot sit at place no. 7 as at most three persons sit between B and G. So, B sits at place no. 5 and A sits at place no. 7. A doesn’t sit immediate left of C. It means C will face south. Immediate neighbors of F i.e. B and A will face north.
