Question
Which of the following floor and lift does ASHISH use?
Study the following information carefully and answer the below questions There are four floors in an apartment with two lifts Viz., Lift-1, and Lift-2. Lift-1 is to the west of Lift-2. Eight persons-AMAN, ANKIT, ARUN, ARJUN, ARYAN, ASHOK, ASHISH, and ASHWANI are using these two lifts to reach certain floors of the apartment but not necessarily in the same order. The lowermost floor is numbered as 1 and the floor above is numbered as 2 and so on, No two persons use the same lift on the same floor. Only one floor is between AMAN and ASHISH, both are using the same lift. Neither ANKIT nor ARJUN using the lift on the same floor of ARUN. ARJUN is getting into the lift immediately above ASHWANI’s lift. Both ARUN and ARYAN are using the same lift, ARYAN gets in above ARUN. Either ARJUN or ASHWANI is getting into the lift on the same floor of AMAN. ASHOK does not get into the lift on an odd numbered floor. AMAN is getting into the lift on an even numbered floor but not an even numbered lift.Solution
AMAN is getting into the lift on an even numbered floor but not an even numbered lift. Only one floor between AMAN and ASHISH, both are using the same lift. From the above condition, there are two possibilities .
ARJUN is getting into the lift immediately above ASHWANI’s lift. Either ARJUN or ASHWANI is getting into the lift on the same floor of AMAN. From the above condition, there are three possibilities.
ASHOK does not get into the lift on an odd numbered floor. Both ARUN and ARYAN are using the same lift, ARYAN gets in above ARUN.
Neither ANKIT nor ARJUN using the lift on same floor of ARUN From the above condition, Case1 and case2a were dropped.
