Question
Who among the following manufacture
Oil? Answer the questions on the basis of the information given below. Eight companies Dabur, MDH, Patanjali, Catch, Anchal, Nestle, Unilever, and Tata are manufacturing eight products and sitting around a circular table, four of them facing the Centre of the table and the rest away from the table. The eight products are: Biscuit, Oil, Soap, Bottle, Chips, Coffee, Pulses, and Milk. The company manufacturing Bottle is sitting at the second position to the left of the company who is manufacturing Biscuit. Patanjali is manufacturing Chips and sitting at the third position to the right of Anchal. Nestle is manufacturing Soap, and sitting at a position diametrically opposite that of Dabur who is facing away from the Centre. Anchal is manufacturing Milk. Catch is sitting at the second position to the right of Anchal, and manufacturing Bottle. Both Nestle and Patanjali are facing away from the Centre. Dabur is not manufacturing Coffee. MDH is sitting at the second position to the right of Unilever. Unilever, who is manufacturing Pulses, is sitting at the third position to the right of Nestle and facing away from the Centre.Solution
Step II: Since Patanjali is manufacturing Chips and sitting at the third position to the right of Anchal. It means two people sit between Patanjali and Anchal so here we will have two possibilities. Anchal is manufacturing milk and Patanjali is facing away from the centre. Since four are sitting towards the center and four are sitting away from the center so the arrangement will look as shown below:
Step III: Catch is sitting second position to the right of Anchal and manufacturing bottle so only case I will exist. Only company left is Tata and it will be sitting on the immediate left of Anchal. The company manufacturing Bottle is sitting at the second position to the left of the company who is manufacturing Biscuit so MDH will be manufacturing biscuit and coffee will be manufacture by Tata and the only product left which is Oil will be manufacture by Dabur.
