Question
The question given below consists of two statements
numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read all the statements and give answer. Six persons F, G, H, I, J and K have different heights. Who is the tallest among all? I. F is taller than G and I. J is taller than H, who is taller than F. Neither G nor I is the shortest. II. J is taller than G. Number of persons taller than H is equal to number of persons shorter than I. F is the third tallest. K is the shortest.Solution
Now, from statement I, F is taller than G and I. J is taller than H, who is taller than F. Neither G nor I is the shortest. So, we have, J > H > F > G/I > I/G > K So, J is the tallest. Therefore, statement I alone is sufficient. Now, from statement II, Number of persons taller than H is equal to number of persons shorter than I. F is the 3rd tallest. K is the shortest. J is taller than G. So, we have, J > H/I > F > G > I/H > K So, J is the tallest. Therefore, statement II alone is sufficient.
