simple interest. Find the value of (7R − 40).Solution
Let the amount invested be Rs. 'p'.
Interest earned = 4p − p = Rs. 3p
Simple interest = Principal × Rate × Time ÷ 100
So, 3p = p × R × 30 ÷ 100
Or, R = (3 × 100) ÷ 30 = 10
Required value = 7 × 10 − 40 = 70 − 40 = 30
